Billy Lee Gainey

March 17, 1955August 30, 2020

Billy Lee Gainey, 65, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020.

Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, Mississippi. A Celebration of Remembrance funeral service will follow at 3:00pm.

He was born March 17, 1955 to the late Jeffie Lee Gainey and Faye Nell Bass.

Billy worked contentedly in the logging business for most of his life. He loved the outdoors; in his spare time he found pleasure in working outside in the yard. His green thumb was undeniable. In addition to keeping his lawn in tip-top shape, he also was known for being diligent to keep a clean and tidy house inside as well. His other interests include vehicles, especially trucks, old Country music by artists such as Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, and fishing. He enjoyed watching the A-team and Mister Ed while sipping on a Mountain Dew. Billy was a kind man who would have coffee ready in the morning for you without even being asked. He was the type to eagerly give you the shirt off his back.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Lynn Luke; brother, Philip Gainey; and sister, Brenda Cousins.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristen Walter and fiancé Heidi Christian; brother, Allen Jordan and wife Glenda; and sister, Sheila Breland.

Mr. Billy will be deeply missed by many.

I remember when I first met Mr. Billy. He was always willing to help anyone. He loved the browny people as he called us 😆.. He had a heart for God and loved shouting for the Lord at church. He always said church was good I just shouted everywhere. His main motto was serving God and always ended his conversations with praying hands... Mr. Billy you will be truly missed my dear. Take your wings and rest in the arms of Jesus..
