Carolyn was born January 15, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Elwood Musgrove and Ethel Mae Finnigan Musgrove. She owned and operated Kolb’s Cleaners in Florence from 1983 until she retired and closed the business in 2015.
A loving and devoted Christian wife and mother, Carolyn raised her family with a love for Christ and respect for others. She was a member of Briarhill Baptist Church, and a true “good Samaritan”, always eager to help anyone in need.
In her free time Carolyn enjoyed collecting antiques and sewing, and was known for her beautiful clothing and home furnishing creations.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Hastings.
She is survived by sons, Doyle Hastings, and Melvin Elliott; brother, Wayne Musgrove; sisters, Alice Henderson, and Janice Little; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, Friday, February 10, 2023, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 12:00pm, Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Briarhill Baptist Church in Florence, with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
