Thary Emerson Black

Thary was born in Winston County on July 6, 1935 to James C. and Claudia Hudspeth Black. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He saw art in everything. He especially loved and lived for his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Harris; granddaughter, Danielle Styron (Kevin); and great granddaughter, Kalyn Styron; brother, Kenneth Black (Wanda); sister, Rita Avera; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Black; his parents; and his siblings, Billy Black, Larry Black, and Joyce Dempsey.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm, with visitation preceding from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS.

Memorial donations may be made to the Last House on the Block in Columbus, MS or the Lowndes County Humane Society.
