He was born on February 2, 1931 to the late Andrew David Peden and Annie Lou Easterling Peden in Flora, Mississippi. WD was hardworking man and kept busy as a self employed mechanic. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. WD never met a stranger and was very social; he was always happy to talk to anyone anywhere. By far though, his greatest joy was his family. WD always looked forward to the holidays because it meant everyone would get together. He adored his wife, Burtie. She was precious to him, and WD protected her as such. In return, she was devoted to him as well, faithfully by his side through sickness and health. Through their countless examples of love and the importance of family, this value was instilled in the rest of the family and will live on through them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete Peden and Ricky Peden and sister, Mary Welch.
WD is survived by his dear wife of 75 years, Burtie Howell Peden; children, William Peden, Jr, Patricia Walter, Robert Peden, and Cecil Peden; beloved daughter-in-laws, Brenda Peden and Luanne Peden; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Miles Peden; sisters, Bell Sykes, Betty Howell, and Virginia Dew; and one grandpup, Mini.
