Stacy Peter Teichroeb, age 58, of Pearland, Texas passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. Husband to Shelly Rae Larson and Father to Alyssa Renee Teichroeb. Born March 28, 1964, in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada to Father, Dan Teichroeb (deceased 2013) and Mother, Margaret Ann MacDonald (deceased 2022). He was the youngest of three children, oldest brother Reuben Teichroeb (deceased 2021), husband of Giselle, father to Reuben Jr, Brittany, Michelle, and Stephanie, and surviving brother Darcy Teichroeb, husband to Barb, father to Daralynn and Ryland.
Growing up, Dan and Marg, parents of Stacy, Reuben and Darcy, taught their boys a life of service to family, work and others would bring the greatest opportunities to live a full and productive life. Stacy graduated High School and achieved his business diploma at Red Deer College. Soon after he began working for UPS as a driver, delivering packages to businesses at and around the Calgary Airport. He continued his education at DeVry Institute in Calgary where he had the opportunity to complete the final year of his degree in Database Administration in Dallas, Texas. With his degree achieved, he moved back to Red Deer and started working at the Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) in Prentiss, Canada - where he could stay close to his mother, father, and two brothers who were married and beginning to raise their own families. In the early 90's he was asked to move to Houston, Texas to work in a new IT department at UCC, which moved all IT workers from manufacturing sites into a centralized business office setting. Excited about the opportunity to be part of a new organization, Stacy accepted the offer and happily embarked on his journey back to Texas.
The transition to Houston had its challenges but Stacy was determined to grow a healthy work and social network, quickly connecting with many people who would become life-long friends. With no traditional family in Texas, Stacy created his own family of friends in his new home. Often filling his days and nights with activities, such as, boating and sailing on Clear Lake, exploring and playing the many golf courses in the local area, participating in bowling leagues, playing men's softball several nights a week, getting certified to scuba dive and traveling the local roads and places around South East. He often volunteered to host new interns coming into UCC and never turned down an invite to a happy hour or opportunity to socialize with new people. During these busy days, his close friend from Red Deer, Blair Lowry, connected him with a Canadian nurse, Kristine Dahl, who had also recently moved and was living in the Houston area. From their first dinner, it was destined they would be friends, and it did not take long for the creation of what would become the Canadian-Texas family (TexCan). A few years later, Blair Lowry moved to Houston and worked for UCC and one faithful night Blair and Stacy went to happy hour with two crazy girls from the UCC IT Call Center, Amydell McClain and Shelly Larson, a spark was ignited between Stacy and Shelly that turned into a fire that burned strong for the next 25 years.
In the year 2000, after 2.5 years of dating, Stacy "finally" married Shelly. :-) Soon after their marriage, they moved to Detroit Michigan, to begin working for The Dow Chemical Co. and start a new life journey together. As typical, establishing a robust work and social life was top priority to both of them. During this time Stacy was able to achieve one of his dreams to own and operate a boat, which was used often, when the weather allowed, to explore Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River, connecting waterways between two of the Great Lakes in Michigan. With happiness and joy they were surprised to learn Shelly was pregnant with a child in late 2003, which they had thought would not be possible.
Alyssa Renee Teichroeb was born on August 6, 2004, who quickly became the central focus of Stacy’s life. Raising her to the age of 18, he was a very proud father and supported her through dance, soccer, gymnastics, cheerleading, and volleyball. He felt his greatest accomplishment was to move his daughter into a college dormitory at Sam Houston University in Huntsville, Texas, where she studies Forensic Chemistry, and watch her thrive in creating her new adult life.
