PEKIN ~ Daniel Lee “Dan” Cruikshank, 72, of Pekin, passed away at 6:04 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Pekin Manor.

Born December 16, 1948 in Peoria, he married Carol E. Wagner on February 3, 1973 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Chad (Crystal) Murphy of Bellevue; one daughter, Amy (David) Boll of Pekin; two granddaughters, Alex Murphy and Maddie Boll; and a special cousin, Janet (Kevin) VanDyke of Green Valley.

His parents and one brother, Kenneth Cruikshank, preceded him in death.

Dan was a 1968 graduate of Limestone Community High School in Bartonville.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

Dan worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for over 40 years, retiring in 2007 as the crib manager in the forge shop.

Dan was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching CNN on the television. He was a proud figure skater dad to Amy. He enjoyed golfing in earlier years.

There will be no services at this time.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

I grew up neighbors to the Cruikshanks. Lots of fun memories. Amy had all the Barbie accessories- even tho Barbie pool ! I loved living there and Dan and Carol were always kind and nice to us kids! My condolences and sympathies to your whole family!
