Edna Louise Layton

Born July 8, 1955 in Peoria to Pauline (Jacob) Tribbett, she married Lester Layton in 1977 in Missouri. He survives.

Also surviving are three children, Kasey Layton and Mickey Tribbett, both of Pekin, and Krystal Nation of Kansas City, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Ashely Layton, Keirsten Gifford, Stevie Lynn Gifford, Alex Vasterling, Cordel Elliott, Evilyn Elliott, and Alyssa Tribbett, all of Pekin; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Joy Buedery.

A lifelong nanny, she had previously worked at Annie’s Restaurant, retiring in 2007. Her grandchildren and children were her life. She enjoyed playing video games, especially on her Nintendo DS.

A gathering celebrating Edna’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at the Eagle Lodge Arie#1869 in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
