Born October 24, 1938 in Pekin to Elmer and Mayme (Farlin) Hodgson, she married Frank Wiseman. She later married Mervin L. Roots on September 30, 1988 in Pekin. He died November 14, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one nephew.
Surviving are one son, Frank W. Wiseman of Pekin; one brother, Jerome (Mary) Hodgson of Manito and several cousins.
Eloise worked at Morton Metalcraft for 16 years as an assembler, retiring on August 1, 1999. She also worked at several local restaurants.
She enjoyed fishing and camping and was a fan of NASCAR and the Chicago Cubs. She was a hardworking woman and will be missed by all who knew her.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
