Born on August 29, 1945 in Pekin to Richard Albert and Mildred Lee (Powers) Guengerich, he married Bonnie Hart on November 5, 1988 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Mike (Brenda) Guengerich of Pekin; one sister, Sharon Carlin of Lincoln; one sister-in-law, Marsha Guengerich; five nieces, Teresa (Mike) Robbins of Lincoln, April (Mike) Johnson of Pekin, Angi (Doug) Bremicker of Florida, Jeanne Guengerich of Manito and Josie Sally of Pekin; three nephews, Richard (Melinda) Guengerich III, of Pekin, Brian Carlin of Peoria and Aaron (Michelle) Carlin of Rockford; many cousins including Bruce Carlson; many great-nieces and nephews and beloved dog Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joseph Guengerich and Richard Guengerich, II.
Jerry worked as a Lubrication Technician at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1995.
He loved fishing, hunting and traveling to Minnesota.
He was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin.
A gathering celebrating Jerry's life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
