James "Jim" William Rupp

Born April 21, 1943 in Pekin to Orville J. and Marjorie G. (Blackburn), he married Claudine A. LaBee. He later married Edith L. West on October 23, 1981 in Pekin. She died March 13, 2024 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Brian) Landeck of Phoenix, Arizona and Penny (Rick) Bruder of San Jose; one son, James (Laura Reid) Rupp of Pekin; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one sister, Barbara (Jerry) Stark of Pekin.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Paul Towne Memorial Amvets Post #169 in North Pekin.

He had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for many years and later worked at Freedom Oil Gas Station in Pekin, retiring in 2005.

Jim enjoyed fishing, camping and tinkering with small projects.

He was a former member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Randy Justus will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
