Judith A Bundy

Born October 24, 1938, in Benton, IL to Robert and Margaret Lee, she married Herschel E. Bundy on December 15, 1956, in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Aprile (Jim) Smith of Pekin and Ginger (Anthony) Patterson of Peoria; two sons, Timothy Bundy of Bloomington and Robert (Cyndi) Bundy of Pekin; five grandchildren, Stacie McCormack, Nathan Smith, Tyler (Christen) Bundy, Wesley Bundy, and Peyton Bundy, all of Pekin; two great-grandchildren, Saige and Ryden; one brother, Robert Lee of Nevada; and special friends of the family, Seth, Jen and Kyler Ostlund.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Sheila Bundy in 1959; grandson-in-law, John McCormack in January 2017; and one sister, Frances Rentsch.

Judy was a fabulous baker and was well known for her cupcakes and specialty cakes. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts. Many friends and family were fortunate to receive a handmade gift from her. She had worked at House of Fabric’s in Pekin, Country Bride in Washington and Foster Gallagher in Peoria. Her most cherished “job” was babysitting her grandchildren, including Randi Deverman and Justin McKinley. She was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues for many years in Pekin and Peoria and served as league secretary. She was a member of the Pekin Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

A gathering celebrating Judy’s life will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Avanti’s Dome, 3401 Griffin Avenue in Pekin.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
