LaVerne "Pete" Glass

PEKIN ~ LaVerne “Pete” Cassell Glass, 91, of Pekin, passed away at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin.
Born February 22, 1930 to Charles and Mary (King) Glass in Glasford, he married Bettie Lou Gifford November 9, 1951 in Canton, South Dakota. She passed away March 17, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Charles, David, and Jeffery Glass; one daughter, Betty Lorraine Glass; one grandson, Bryan Spracklen; one brother, James Glass and one sister, Helen Monroe.
Surviving are one daughter, Audrey (James) Spracklen of Pekin; one grandson, Andrew (Cassandra) Spracklen of Massachusetts; one granddaughter in law, Allison Spracklen of Minier; three great granddaughters, Emma Spracklen of Colorado, Chloe Spracklen of Kentucky and Rosland Spracklen of Massachusetts; one sister, Karen Subaitis of Indian Head Park; and five nieces and two nephews.
Pete was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He had worked for Nabisco as a truck driver for over 30 years.
Pete loved to travel and go on tours with his wife.
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
