Shirley Ann Tracey

Born August 29, 1937 in Bernadotte to James Jefferson and Mary Hester (Jennings) Deford, she married Russell Dean Knott on October 3, 1953. She later married David Tracey.

Surviving are three children, Russell Knott of Chicago, Vickie Osborne of Tremont and Brent (Anita) Knott of Shelbyville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Michelle Elson, Amy Jackson, Caleb Knott and Brady Knott; her sister, Betty Deford and her brother, Dale “Buck” Deford.

Shirley worked as a cashier in Tennessee for many years and retired 20 years ago.

Shirley loved baking wedding and birthday cakes for her customers, friends, and family members. She loved to sew and crochet and her children received many quilts and afghans that she had made. She was an avid reader and would finish a book every two days. Her favorite pastime however, was spending time with her family.

Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
