Having met Butch a few short years ago on the golf course, it was quickly apparent that we not only shared a love for the game of golf, but for the Crimson Tide as well. And as fate would have it we both had the honor to serve our country in the Navy not to many years apart. This allowed us that special bond afforded to those who have shared that unique experience of many months at sea, as well as sharing stories, that only those who have lived that live, can truly understand and relate to. Playing a round of golf with Butch and swapping sea stories will surely be missed and most definitely never duplicated. I will miss but never forget my friend. Davy Jones welcomes you, Butch. All Hands, Attention On Deck!!

I feel as though I know Butch because of the stories his lovely wife shared with me. She and I worked together for many years and would tell me how much he loved their family, birthdays and Alabama football. I know he will be missed by family and friends.
