Susan , Kurt and Drew , I can’t begin to tell you how heartbroken I am right now after I heard about Clay . I’ve met a lot of characters in my 67 years and lived in a lot of places and my friendship with Clay is one that I can honestly say was one of the greatest friendships I ever had ,and it was a privilege for me to call him a true friend . When we would get a little out of hand he would always say “the wardens “ calling we gotta go . He was always there to help or most of the time bust my balls about something but I know how much you and the boys meant to him and I’m tearing up as I’m writing this
Take care and god bless

Clay was a sweetheart of a guy with a clever sense of humor. As a real estate executive for CVS he made real estate deals a hell of a lot
more fun. Driving around for days on end looking at potential CVS locations could be considered tedious at best, but Clay brought a quick wit and a sense camaraderie that made the whole process a grand old time.
I hadn’t seen Clay in years but I have fond memories of our dinners, drinks and RE tours. He was a cool dude. My best to the Wilson family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Clay was full of life and the first person my dad met when CVS was interested in ur chasing our family business. My dad always liked him because he felt like he was a good old Southern boy. I had the pleasure of working with him for 12 years. He was full of life and always made me laugh. He called me about a month ago to see how I was doing and we we planned on grabbing lunch the next time I was in town. I was shocked to hear the news and my heart goes out to your family. He will be missed by many.

Susan - We were so sorry to hear about Clay's passing. Someone texted Steve about it today, so we didn't know in time to come. Not sure I can publicly state all of our memories with the two of you, but you'll know what they are! We really had some good times together. It's been years, but the memories flood back. I'll never forget speeding down the highway headed to the beach with you guys, and having Clay leaning out the window of that big "deuce and a quarter" yelling at the cars as we passed by, "You're history!" He was certainly a fun guy. We are fortunate to have known him and had him in our life all those years ago. Hugs to you.

Susan, Drew and Kurt
God bless you during this painful time.
Since I first met Clay at the Sylacauga Jack’s for a pharmacy intern interview he and very soon Susan treated me like a member of their family. Clay has been “my guy” for advice on everything For better than 3 decades. Guiding me personally, professionally and spiritually. Always there to help from moving across town, recommending a realtor, roofer, mechanic, you name it. So many treasured memories from fishing, going to the lake, bowl game trips and just hanging out. RIP “preacher”. All my love and prayers to Susan, Drew and Kurt.
