Geraldine "Gerri" Burks Cotman

Geraldine Burks Cotman, 86, of Miramar Beach, Florida, passed away Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022. She was born June 2, 1936 in Gordo, Alabama. Geraldine graduated from Phillips High School. Her professional career spanned several years in business ownership and management at several Big Ten Tires locations. In her leisure, Geraldine enjoyed time with her husband Hank, traveling with her family, and growing and maintaining her beautiful plants and yard. Geraldine was predeceased by her husband Henry "Hank" Cotman, to whom she was married on February 24, 1978; her parents, Barney B. Burks and Mamie Parker Burks; three brothers, Barney Jr., Doug, and Woody Burks; and one sister, Mary Gray. Survivors include Geraldine's two brothers, Johnny Burks (Faye) and Bobby Burks (Carolyn); and a multitude of nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, followed by A Service of Remembrance for "Gerri" Cotman at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Geraldine will be laid to rest at Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola, Florida.
