The viewing will be at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, TX on Friday, June 1, 2018 with family present from 2-4 p.m.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Waurika Cemetery, Waurika, OK with Rev. Chad Stubblefield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ridout’s Southern Heritage, Pelham, AL and Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home, Wichita Falls, TX.
Greg was born January 31, 1947 in Wichita Falls, TX to Hubert and Elizabeth Klopfenstein and grew up in Waurika, OK. He proudly served his country for four years in the United States Army beginning in 1966. His service included two overseas tours as an Intelligence Courier, Staff Sergeant E6, in Thailand during the Vietnam War.
Greg completed his Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK. He had a life-long banking career that took him to many welcoming cities. He started his career in Corporate Finance at Liberty Bank in Oklahoma City then moved to Tulsa, OK where he worked for First Tulsa for eight years. He was recruited by First Union Bank in Charlotte, NC where he spent seven years. He continued his profession by moving to Leawood, KS where he was employed by Commerce Bank of Kansas City, MO for thirteen years. His last career move took him to Birmingham, AL with Regions Bank. Greg retired in 2015 from BBVA Compass Bank, Birmingham, AL.
Greg was a true OU Sooner fan, holding football season tickets for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hubert P Klopfenstein (2015) and Emma Elizabeth (Gresham) Klopfenstein (2001).
Survivors include his wife, Tena, of the home, one brother, Phil Klopfenstein and wife, Rhonda of Shawnee, OK; one sister, Kathy Gordon and husband, Allan of Wichita Falls, TX. Brothers in law, Chuck Galbraith of Guthrie, OK and Kelly Galbraith of Chandler, OK. Also, cousins, Margie and Ted Alabaster of Oklahoma City, OK, Annessa Traynor of Edmond, OK and Tiffani Ritchie of Moore, OK. Many other special family members, nieces & nephews, and friends.
