Lelas retired from the US Airforce after 20 years of service. He became a rural route postman in Ragland.
A funeral service will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 2:00pm, with the family to receive friends from 1:00pm until the service time at the funeral home.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Portwood; several nieces and nephews, Stephen Day, Allan Day, Diane Garrgain, Sharon Engle and husband, Tim, Terry Portwood wife, Karen, Denise Portwood, Debra Portwood, Larry, Dale and Linda.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lucy Hithcox; three brothers, Onnie Hithcox, Lawson Hithcox, and Efford Hithcox; and a sister, Geneva Day.
