Alan C. Swarthout

Alan C. Swarthout, age 72, of Penn Yan, NY passed away on Wednesday November 7, 2018 at Rochester General Hospital. Alan was born in Penn Yan, NY on October 30, 1946 to Nina (Clark) and A. Franklin Swarthout. Alan graduated from Penn Yan Academy Class of 1965. He had earned his associates degree from Corning Community College and also had attended Community College of the Finger Lakes. He retired after 20 years of service from Taylor Instruments in Rochester. He had also worked for Seneca Foods as a quality control inspector and for Home Depot. Alan is survived by his mother, Nina Clark Swarthout; sister, Linda (Jim) Eaves; brother, Andrew (Kathy) Swarthout; nieces, Melanie (Josh Corbett) Swarthout and Caroline Swarthout; great nieces Grace Swarthout and Chloe Corbett; and great nephews, Domanic Corbett and Liam Miller, Step Niece and Nephew, Debra (Bob) Curbeau and Jimmy Eaves; step great nieces and nephews, Cade and Jenna Curbeau, James and Jacob Eaves, as well as many cousins. Alan was predeceased by his father, A. Franklin Swarthout. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 am on Monday Nov. 12th, 2018 at the Second Milo Baptist Church, 1964 2nd Milo Rd., Penn Yan, NY 14527 with the Rev. David Daniels. Interment at Second Milo Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
