

Madalene was born in Chemung, NY on March 8th, 1917, the daughter of the late Glenn DeWitt and Winifred Sprague. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1935 and married Exton Kelley on October 4th, 1940. She was a member of the Bluff Point United Methodist Church, Steuben County Historical Society, Guyanoga Chapter of the DAR, served on the Town of Jerusalem zoning board, was a 4-H club leader and was the Bluff Point columnist for the Chronicle Express for years. She enjoyed bowling, playing euchre and was an active member of the Senior Bowling Leagues in Dundee and Penn Yan. Anyone who knew her knows how helpful and generous she was and how much she enjoyed people!
In addition to her parents, Madalene was predeceased by her husband Exton in 1990 as well as her brothers Donald and Kenneth DeWitt.
Madalene is survived by her daughters Donna (John) Andersen of Zephyrhills, FL, Nancy (Roger)Scott of Keuka Park, and son David (Masako) Kelley of Boston, MA; grandchildren, Kelley McLaughlin, David Andersen, Terry Parsons, Christine Andersen, John ‘Fuzzy’ Andersen, Michael and Katherine Kelley, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family in the spring.
