I will miss Uncle George immensely! We reconnected over a year ago. He has been an amazing supporter of my son Ben and his scouting adventures. Ben shared his love of Cub Scouts with him. George helped Ben pay for Camp in a Box last summer. Ben wrote him a real letter to thank him for his donations and in return, George sent pictures of kind of the battleship he worked on during his service career. George also shared memories & pictures of my mother with me along with the love he had for his family. I will miss him very much. He wrote to me often through Facebook. I am very grateful for the fact that he reached out to me and that we were able to reconnect over the past year.
Love,
Hannah

George was my younger brother. I wish I had known him better, but he wound up in Florida and I was in Massachusetts. My daughter Hannah and I visited with him, and he put us up in his home when we went to see our mother shortly before she died. We had a marvelous evening together. He showed us pictures of the ships where he served in the Navy, and explained his work for the city. He gave us a warm, smiling welcome despite our not having seen each other in decades. I'm sure he is in heaven with God.

Uncle George (on my Mother's side) was always ready with asked-for advice, was warm and genuine and I am so sad to hear of this loss. I wish him peace and Godspeed to Heaven.

Such wonderful photos of so many cherished and wonderful memories that all of you will hold fondly in your hearts. George was a lucky man to have had that much love in his life. It is easy to see how much he loved each and every member of his family. So many go through life not knowing how much they are truly loved...George never had to worry about that. He knew!!
George and all of you will be in my thoughts and prayers! I know he is enjoying himself in Heaven reuniting with those family and friends that were waiting for his arrival. I hope he doesn't get in too much trouble telling those racy jokes of his in Heaven.
May George rest in boundless love and happiness in Heaven!

I will miss George very much! He was a great friend and mentor. We spent many nights trying to practice the Masonic catechisms, but it never failed that we would always ended up spending more time chatting about life and him coaching me on how to navigate through it. I will always remember his compassion for those around him and that big grin he always had on when entering a room. He was truly a brother in every way!
