I worked with Howard at NPWC. We pretty much worked together as a team and spent many hours of regular and overtime together. We had aLOT of laughs. Heck of a worker and a heck of a friend. Him and his son helped my family move from Alabama when I was tranfered to Pensacola NAS over 20 years ago. Of course he was Navy (he was very proud of his military service) and I was Air Force so we had that friendly rivalry. I'll always remember Howard and the good times and will sincerely miss him.
On the days when things would be intolerable he could always get me to lighten up and the day would just get better. God bless him and his family.

Dolly and family,
Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this time. Deacon always greeted us with smile and a "come on in" warm welcome when visiting your home. On one of my last visits, I enjoyed listening to him talking about his family ancestry and admiring the beautiful collection of antique furniture pieces. Again our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

When HOWIE was younger he use to spend time with his cousins on his uncle farm. HOWIE, Dennis and mark would do boys stuff. They would have tractor races and jumped out of the horse barn haymount. HOWIE and Dennis once got into the hard cellar and got mark drunk-they were just pretending they were drinking just to get mark drunk. We all had good times. Memories of HOWIE will always stay with me.

Howard, was a hard worker. I worked with Howard at Public Works Pensacola. One of my favorite memories of Howard, when I came to work at Public Works. I was riding with him in his truck and he was telling me that you could drive anywhere in a public works truck. Off we went across this field to go to a lift station. I was surprised!! Howard didn't like to fool around getting a job done. I was helping on this issue at the water plant and we had to cut this 2" PVC pipe to finish the job, I asked are you sure the water pressure was off, he said come on Richard, just CUT the pipe!! I did as he commanded, well I wound up swimming out of the pit!! It was coming out so quickly a friend of mine and I Leon Bradley had to get all wet. Howard just laughed!! And told me I have been more careful! He was a hoot to work with. One of his favorite saying was it is a bear. I'll miss the ole Duck man!! RIP Howard!!
