Our Beautiful Mother, Lorie Victoria Luker Smith, went home to our Lord, on December 3, 2022. She was the widow of James Clyde Smith III of Mobile, Alabama. They were married for 44 years and had 8 children.
Mother was born in Nicholsville, Alabama and was the daughter of William Riley Luker and Nancy Ann Pearl Pruett (Luker). She graduated from Nicholsville High School. Mom was the last of her family of 2 brothers and 5 sisters to pass away. They all called her ”Punk” as she was the baby.
Mom worked as a nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital for 35 years on St. Louise Floor. She was a devout Catholic and attended Mass regularly before she could no longer walk. She always loved her old Baptist songs from her childhood her whole life.
Mom was preceded in death by: Husband James C. Smith III, Sons: James C. Smith IV, Bruce J. Smith, and Sean T. Smith, Grandsons: Bruce J. Smith Jr., Brayden Joshua Smith and Keith Dylan Smith. She is survived by: Theresa V. Smith, Linda A. Smith, Brian P. Smith, Kathleen L. Smith and Keith W. Smith, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
There will be a Graveside service at 1030am at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens at 1985 W. Nine Mile Rd, Pensacola, Fl. 32534.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Mulherin House in Mobile, Alabama.
