Nora F. O'Neal

Nora Frances O’Neal, aged 80, died peacefully in Covenant Hospice on May 13, 2018 in Pensacola, Florida. Nora is survived by her children: Bennie Roger O’Neal Jr. (Nancy O’Neal) and David Patrick O’Neal; her grandchildren: Benjamin Mel O’Neal and Katherine Leigh O’Neal; her great grandchild, Aislin Skyla McNeal: her sister, Donna Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Roger O’Neal Sr.; her parents, Wilburn and Lillian Buckley; and her sister Linda Nelson. Nora was born on February 26, 1938 in New Hebron, Mississippi to Wilburn and Lillian Buckley. She married Bennie on April 19th in 1958 and started their life together in Pensacola, Florida. Nora started her career as a computer technician at University Hospital and retired from Sacred Heart Hospital in 2004. Her children remember her as a loving mother that will be missed. Nora was a generous individual who loved her family and friends and who was passionate about watching her favorite sports teams, reading, and visiting with family and friends. She was an active and dedicated member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and often attended exercise class with her church friends. Visitation will be May 17th from 10:00-11:00 am at Eastern Gate Funeral Home. The service immediately follows at 11:00. Dr. Andrew Blackmon, pastor of Pine Forest United Method Church, will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nora’s life. The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for their kindness and dedication during her final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
