Obituary for Norma Haynes, 83 from Pensacola. Norma passed away Thursday, Feb. 25th after a brief illness. She was born Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 25, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to Don and Ethel White. Her husband Mark, her twin sister Nancy, and her son Bill preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Daniel, her nephews Tony Gaubatz (Donna) and Michael Gaubatz, great nieces and nephews – Julie, Joseph, David, Cherice and Evan, and many great-great nieces and nephews. Norma worked for many years as a legal secretary for Bradley Arant law firm in Birmingham. She was a true southern lady, one of the sweetest people you’d ever want to meet. She enjoyed picnics, gardening, cooking, hiking in the woods, picking huckleberries and eating seafood. She loved her family, her animals, traveling and the outdoors, especially swimming and snorkeling. She and her family went on many trips to the beach, national parks, the Caribbean islands, and Mexico. They kept a sailboat at Pirates Cove for many years. She will be missed by all her family and friends, especially her son Daniel. She will be interred with her husband at Barrancas National Cemetery.
