Marjorie Evalene Geick

Marjorie Evalene Geick, 84, of Metamora passed away peacefully at 1:00 pm Thursday April 12, 2018 at OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born February 12, 1934 in Pocahontas, AR, the daughter of Joseph and Violet Spikes Flanigan. She married Larry L. Geick in 1956. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2015 in Lacon. Marjorie is survived by one daughter, Karen (David) Spurlock of Washington; one son, Fred Geick of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Michael Spurlock of Washburn, Krystal Michels of Chillicothe, and Bradley Michels of Chillicothe; two brothers, James (Carol) Flanigan of Missouri, and Gene (Phyllis) Flanigan of Texas; one sister, Ann Goree of Florida; two beloved great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Geick; and two sisters, Glenda Witbeck and Alta Nail. After Marjorie and Larry married she spent several years raising her family at multiple Air Force bases across the United States before settling in Mossville, IL and later in Lacon, IL. Recently, Marjorie was a resident at the Snyder Village Senior Living and Nursing Facility in Metamora, IL. She dearly loved her family and friends along with gardening, puzzles, bingo and baking. She greeted everyone with a smile on her face and kindness in her heart. Loved by many, she will be missed. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will take place Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11 am at Parkview Cemetery. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate. A celebration of life gathering will follow.
