Andrea Kaye Woods Twyman was born in Cameron Texas in 1959 to Willie Woods & Ola Stine Woods. She was the middle child of two boys, Rondle "Blue" Woods & Adolphus "Tinkey" Woods. Her father was in the Air Force, so she and her family moved around a lot. The family was stationed at Beale AFB in California and lived in Marysville, California. She accepted God at a young age and was a member of Mt. Oliver Baptist Church under the leadership of Revered J. B. Haynes & Revered O. Calloway. "Kaye" as she was called was in the youth choir in junior high & high school. She attended both Marysville High School and Lindhurst High School while being engaged in the BSU (Black Student Union)and the girls basketball team before graduating from Lindhurst High School in June 1977.
Andrea Woods met her soulmate while living in California, Van Twyman, who was stationed at Beale AFB. The two married on December 22, 1981 and to that union were blessed with two children Shaun Vernon Twyman and LaToya Natasha Twyman. The family also moved around quite a bit due to Van Twyman being active military. The family settled in Pflugerville Texas in 1997 when TSgt Van Twyman retired from 21 years of active service in the military. Throughout this time Andrea Twyman had several careers ranging from Executive Administrative Assistant at Dell and with Seton Hospital as well as an event coordinator with the National Center of Sexual & Domestic Violence. The family also joined and actively attended St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Pflugerville, Texas in which she had several different roles throughout her time there which included: Deaconess/Minister's Wife, Hospitality/Oh Taste & See ministry, Sanctuary Choir and Sisterhood.
In 2016 Andrea was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in which she fought daily until her battle ended and God saw fit to end her suffering and grant her solace in her heavenly home on June 19, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ola Stine Woods, grandparents, Roy and Florine Manners, and younger brother Adolphus Woods.
Andrea Twyman is survived by her husband of 37.5 years, Van Twyman Jr.; her children, Shaun and LaToya Twyman (Renell); her grandson Christian Twyman; her father Willie Woods; her older brother Rondle Woods; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.
