Helen Ruth Yarchak, 98, of Pflugerville, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. Helen Ruth was born on June 13, 1922, to Emil and Caroline Wenzel in Elgin, Texas. She was reborn into God’s Kingdom through Holy Baptism in her youth and later confirmed her Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas.

Helen Ruth was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Charles Yarchak on December 26, 1945. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage and together provided a loving home for their children, John and Caroline.

Helen Ruth was a proud graduate of Austin High School. After graduation she pursued a career with the Austin Police Department and the IRS. Eventually, Helen Ruth and Charles decided to go into business for themselves and opened Charlies Railroad Salvage in Austin, Texas where she worked until retirement.

Helen Ruth was very involved with The Austin Ballet Academy helping sew costumes and preparing every year for The Nutcracker. She also supported her husband Charles traveling around Texas while he took on the role as the Texas Little League Commissioner of Baseball. Helen Ruth was very active in St. Paul Lutheran Church serving many years with the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Wednesday night Youth Club.

Helen Ruth was a kind, uplifting person, a source of encouragement to everyone around her. She was known for her joyful spirit and beautiful smile. Helen Ruth dearly loved spending time with her family, playing dominoes, going out to eat, vacations, and going to garage sales every Saturday morning. She was a wonderful grandmother that never missed celebrating a birthday or going to a school or sporting event. She loved watching baseball every spring and always followed the Rangers and Astros.

Helen Ruth was truly an angel here on earth and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Helen and Charles Yarchak were such wonderful Christian people! Always smiling and helping others. They were a driving force in the Youth Club enjoyed by many - which Pastor Fred established at St Paul. Loving and happy all the time. Helen’s sweet smile will always be remembered. Thank you dear Lord for their faithful membership among the Saints at St Paul! Rest In Peace dear Helen. My love to Caroline and John and to the whole family! God’s Blessings- until we meet in Heaven.
