Lyndon Walls DeBorde, age 82 of Cedar Park, Texas passed away Saturday, July 13th 2019 with family by his side. He was born on June 26, 1937 in Surry County, North Carolina to Edgar Dallas and Leota Walls DeBorde.
Mr. DeBorde graduated from University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1959. He then moved to Texas where he taught middle school math in the Austin Independent School District for 33 years. He served with the TSTA as an advocate for teachers rights and pay. Mr. DeBorde also served as a Deacon and a Royal Ambassador leader in the early to mid seventies at Windsor Park Baptist Church.
After retirement Mr. DeBorde played harmonica in the bluegrass band "Brian Byrne and Borrowed Time".
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife Lois and his brothers Dallas DeBorde and Clifton DeBorde.
Survivors include his daughter Janell Kling of Cedar park, son David Allen and his wife Cheryl Diane of Cameron, Texas; brother James DeBorde; 10 grandchildren; and and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration with food and music is being planned. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to the Austin chapter of the American Heart Association. The family would like to thank the many caregivers and health care professionals for their care.
