Mary Ann was born on September 10, 1934, in Hillsboro, to Oran Clayton and Jewel Inez (Epting) Younger. At the age of 12, her family moved to Brownsville, where she graduated from high school in 1953. Following school, she began working in banking.
On May 28, 1955, she married Robert E. Lieck in Brownsville. Before long, the couple moved to Panama City, Panama, for a year while Robert was stationed there with the U. S. Army. Not long after, the couple moved to Mercedes for 16 years, where Mary Ann was a very active member of First United Methodist Church. In 1975, they moved to Odessa, where they had resided until moving to Hutto this past year.
A devoted mother, Mary Ann was active in her children's school activities, as well as serving as a girl scout leader. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Cotillion, and First United Methodist Church of Odessa. As long as her health permitted, one of her favorite pastimes was quilting. She also took great joy in hosting her family over special holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Robert Younger. Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Lieck of Hutto; three children, Liz Derouen and husband, Don, of Cedar Park, Edith Pisella of Hutto, and Clayton Lieck and wife, Lisa, of Rockwall; four siblings, George Younger of Colorado City, Sarah Gainley of Weslaco, Shirley Graham and husband, Charles, of Wichita Falls, and Judy Bray of San Antonio; ten grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
