Beloved husband and father, Roy L. Wolff, went peacefully to be with his Lord and eternal home on Thursday, November 29, 2018. Born on July 9, 1930, in Austin, Texas, Roy was the son of Otto and Mittie Wolff. He grew up in what is now central Austin and would love to tell stories about Austin when it was just a “small town”. As a young man, he met the love of his life, Geneva (Dees). They were married on May 16, 1950. Together they raised their three children, Connie, Barbara (Babbie), and Randy in the Skyview neighborhood of Austin.
Roy loved to serve his community and was the Boy Scout leader of Troop 50 at Reilly Elementary during the 1960s. Roy loved to take his family camping and fishing and always planned great vacations for his family traveling to New Mexico and Colorado pulling a small pop-up camper behind the family’s station wagon. Later, after retiring from Texas Instruments, Roy and Geneva would travel in their RV making many friends where their visited. They also loved the cruises they took to such places as the Caribbean Alaska, and Martha’s Vineyard.
Roy is preceded in death by his loving wife, Geneva, parents and his siblings, Clara Kirby, Clifford (Pete) Wolff, Novell Howard, Wayne Wolff, Gladys Turner, and William (Bill) Wolff, his children, Connie Covington and husband Albert Covington of Cleveland, Tennessee, Barbara Keese and husband John Keese of Cedar Park, and Randy Wolff and wife Lynda of Wimberly; his grandchildchildren, Jennifer Sykes of Cleveland, Tennessee, Michael Covington of Cleveland, Tennessee, Erica Jones of Luling, Philip Keese of Austin, Angela Johnson of Cedar Park, Miranda Basey of Leander, Amanda Cramblit of Taylor, Melissa Wolff of Cedar Park, as well as 18 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the fabulous nurses, awesome aides, and excellent staff of Trinity Care Center of Round Rock who have given our Dad the best of care and loads of love during the past four years. We would also like to thank Altus Hospice of Round Rock for their tender and loving care. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund at www.curealz.org.
