Ann Gamble Tinkler, of Smiths Station AL passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Born in Phenix City, AL, on August 27, 1937. She was the eldest daughter of William Hoyt Gamble and Emily Irene Gamble.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 56 yrs, William “Bill” Franklin Tinkler. Ann was a graduate of the class of 1955 at Central High School in Phenix City AL. Ann immediately started working as a Dental Hygienist. Ann would then work as a book keeper for Eaton-Kenway in Utah, and many years at the law firm of Funderburk, Day & Lane in Phenix City AL. Ann and Bill moved to Utah in 1973 and stayed for over 20 years before returning home. Ann enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family and many friends.
She is survived by her daughter Lee and her husband Jeff Sauerwine, of Smiths Station AL; Brothers, Hoyt Gamble Jr. and wife Pat, of Phenix City AL; Duff Gamble and wife Cherry of Smiths Station AL; and a sister, Karen Flynn of Daphne AL; 2 grandsons, Clay and Wade; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, AL 36867, on Monday, September 26th from Noon until 1:00 p.m.(est). Graveside service and burial will follow at 2:00 P.M.(est) at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Highway 165, Fort Mitchell, AL, 36856, where Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband.
