Dick was born on July 2, 1938 and lived near their store, Kim’s Market, in Glendale. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Kim Tang.
Dick came from a very large family of 12 children. His siblings were Don, Jack, Lang, Ying, Ben, Sam, KC, May Jane, Helen, Mayen, Betty, and Dick the youngest. He attended Glendale Grammar School and graduated from Glendale High School in 1956. He attended Arizona State University as an engineering student and decided to change his major and enroll at the University of Arizona in Pharmacy graduating in 1960.
Dick married Shirley Tang on March 21, 1970 and lived in Whittier, CA, a marriage that lasted 53 years. Dick and Shirley decided to change vocations and moved back to Arizona and operated a Mexican restaurant called Nachos in east Mesa that lasted for 26 years. Dick and Shirley loved to travel and visited places such as China, Taiwan, Hawaii, and Alaska.
He was an exceptional athlete, and mostly enjoyed bicycling with his close friends. Cooking healthy meals for his family and friends was his specialty. Dick was loved by so many and will be missed by all that knew him.
Services will be held at Serenity Chapel at Greenwood Cemetery 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, Friday, February 17, 2023. Visitation will be 9:00am with the funeral services starting at 10:00am.
