Dorothy Ann (Bordonaro) Sottosanti, 99 years young, entered heaven’s gates from Gilbert, AZ on February 17, 2021. Dottie was born on December 27, 1921, to Frank and Antoinette (Gaeta) Bordonaro in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was raised and graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. Dottie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Armond Guy Sottosanti. She was the loving Mom of two devoted daughters, Donna Colonna of Mentor, Ohio and Gail Ann Erickson of Gilbert, AZ, along with sons-in-law, Wayne Colonna and Don Erickson. Dottie was the cherished Gram to five grandchildren, Matt Erickson , Wayne R. Colonna, Jay Erickson, Dana Wilson, Jenna Martell, and twelve great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a dear aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Dottie adored her family and was a kind friend to everyone. She was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and was an excellent baker. Dottie lovingly passed on her recipes for Italian cookies and made the best pumpkin pies. Despite being a busy wife and mother, Dottie still found time to volunteer at her church, Hillcrest Hospital and her daughters’ elementary schools.

Dottie enjoyed shopping, dancing, traveling, music and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed her grandchildren’s school programs, dance and piano recitals, plays, band concerts and athletic events. Dottie was a long standing parishioner at St. Steven’s Church in Sun Lakes and was a member of the Rosary Club. She quietly lived her deep faith and was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Steven’s Catholic Church, located at 24827 S. Dobson Rd, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. Mass will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
