Margine Mae Mercado Born March 4, 1934 Endicott, NY Died June 8, 2019 Goodyear, AZ Raised in the town of Unadilla, NY, situated on the Susquehanna River, Margine Clark faithfully attended the Union Church with her family. It was there, in her elementary school years, that she came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. After graduating from high school in 1952 she moved with her family to Phoenix from upstate New York to attend Bible College at Arizona Bible Institute. Four years later, while in nurses training, she met Richard (Dick) Mercado and they were married that same year of 1956. “Sister Margine” has faithfully served the Lord together with her husband in the ministry of Mexican Gospel Mission and the Evangelical Baptist Church for 63 years. She has used her gifts as a musician (playing piano and singing) both in faithful ministry to the local church and through three gospel recordings that are still being used of God throughout the Spanish-speaking world. She has also been used of the Lord in Bible teaching in conferences, camps, and retreats over many years. She has used her bookkeeping skills to be a rich blessing to both church and mission offices for many years. She has been an exemplary wife, mother, mentor and friend. Mrs. Mercado is preceded in death by her Father, Ercell, H. Clark and Mother, Augusta D. Clark. She is survived by her brother, Daniel Clark and his wife Bea, of Sacramento, California, and her sister, Lurene DuBois and her husband Mark of Lexington, Missouri. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dr. Dick Mercado Sr., of Goodyear, AZ, and children: daughters Linda Crowther and her husband Jim of Goodyear, Lanette Whitaker and her husband Dave of Morgan Hill, California, Jennifer Cox and her husband Bruce of Greer, South Carolina, Cecilia Mercado of Phoenix, AZ and one son, Dick and his wife Joyce of Goodyear, AZ. She leaves behind eleven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
