Oh how I longed for you to come to me in a dream to give me a sign or something then almost a year on 8/19/21, I became whom you are to me then on 8/21/21 you came in my dream sitting there next to me doing something I only remember it was you next to me holding my hand once I realized I closed my eyes and held on oh soo tight . I'm sorry I couldn't sing all your favorite songs when you said so long. I know I'll see you again your always there in the wind . Oh how I thank  God for you not only for being my grandma but my best friend too. Whom I depend on. No matter what or where I'll be there!!!! You have a funny sense of humor because I felt you combing my hair then I woke up and your not there but God reminded me your in the Air!!! Always watching over me going here and there!!!! So I'll keep contending to make my home there so you could meet me in the air. No one can take the memories and moments we shared she tried to hurt me because you were no longer there!!!! You fought the good fight and thats how I can sleep at nigh rest Assure I know my God will Judge and take care of her so I'll forgive her because I'm different then her!!!!!!!!

As I wake up this morning trying to fathom how a year has gone by. A whole year since I have been able to hear your voice call my name. A whole year since I held your hand…A whole year since I laughed with you, combed your hair, or sang. Oh how I miss you so. I know you are around because i pay attention to the signs you send! 

As this day will not be easy I find peace knowing that your at peace. I will and can’t explain the love I have for you but I hope it was evident in my care for you.

On Garfield street, i would love to go visit my Aunt Mary, Uncle Raul & cousins i had such a great time there we would play on the marry go round until we were so dizzy of spinning we would sit and rest then we would go pick figs from my Aunt Mary's fig tree and eat them my mom would takes us in the mornings sometimes i would watch my Aunt Mary get ready for work in her office clothes i would think wow she looks so important i really looked up to her she was a hard working woman who loved her children very much and would do anything for them she will be greatly missed rest for now tia love your niece.

As tough as it was to watch your journey I promised to be there every step of the way! You and I know our conversation, our tears, our fears...we shared so much. I sang to you, I wiped your tears, I held you, I slept with you, I made sure we had Coronas on hand, I carried you when you could no longer walk even when I felt depressed and overwhelmed. I tried to keep strong for you. I would do it all over again. You deserved more much more but I know you are in Heaven peacefully. No more worries, no more tears and no more pain.

Just thinking of all the things we all went through while we were at home with mom and dad and the rest of the family. We had such wonderful times together. We danced together, we sang together, we cried together, we even fought together but it was OK because we loved each other so much! As far as I could remember, my sister and I even nursed our daughters together. As we watched them grow up, we made plans that our daughters would also grow up together. I’ll never forget when I used to comb my sisters hair she got so many compliments because she looks so beautiful. We even took a special trip to Oregon one year and I’ll never forget it. Mary, Dorthy, B and I had a beautiful time exploring and making wonderful memories. One thing I always admired about her is that she was such a hard worker, she was so dedicated to her family she always wanted the best of everything for them, she works so hard to give them what she could. I just cannot explain all the beautiful days we had together but I will cherish them deeply.  I know that Mary is resting, she is at peace. My beautiful sister, I’m missing you already, but I will be waiting for you in the paradise. I love you to pieces and may Jehovah bring you back to us, rest now and be in peace my dear sister. She liked my cat Boundless.  She liked my dog Harajuku.  Mary was present when my dog Mellow was born, and liked her, too.  Through thick and thin, Mary was always endearing and funny.  She used to work for SRP, and told me many times.  Thank you, SRP, for preparing Mary for her employment with me, because she was a faithful employee even after I fired her and she returned.  Dang it, if it weren't for Sharon and Mary I wouldn't have met the whole lot of the family, including Maryssa.  

I think Mary deserved better than she got, even when she gave more than she should have.  I probably contributed to her shortfalls when she had to hold some of her paychecks, with nary a complaint.  But, let me tell you, when she got roped into an unethical situation with that B jerk regarding the old tenants association, Mary made good on the mistake to the best of her ability.   She meant well.  I hope the balance of her life scales will tip to that point, that she meant well.  She really did have the best intentions, and I loved her for that.

Oh, and I never knew Mary to lie.  Which is quite something for being a Gemini, even though she told me there was some sort of screw up with the birth date.  Anyway, for a Gemini not to lie means that Mary had to be an old soul that had transcended her natural inclinations.  Keep on truckin’, Mary!

I don’t have too many family memories that don’t include Mary, she was a constant in our lives. Mary was loving yet fierce, nurturing yet firm, generous yet demanding and always  reminded you that family was the most important thing in life. Mary will be missed but never forgotten.

Headstrong, full of passion. One true mission, yielded to the great comission. Nana Mary gave every bit of her she had to any one who would ask. Never giving up the hope for ALL she loved to meet the man named Jesus. With defiance and determination, she stood the ground she was placed on and would not waiver in that love and hope. Who were we to have been so blessed to enjoy time and attention from her? Nana Mary taught me to stand strong and speak the truth regardless if it was going to be received. I thank the Lord for bringing her to a tiny church with a big heart even if only for a while. Memories will last the lifetime.

Mary was one of the most beautiful, funny and kindest souls I’ve known.  From the first time I met her, every time I saw her we would laugh, smile or cry.  Mary’s integrity is unmatched and she loved her family, children and grandchildren with a passion.  Loving Mary was easy.  
Mary made a difference and she will be missed.

I've known Mary for over three decades. We had some great times together. Her sister, Dorothy, and I used to lunch with Mary and a friend from SRP and wound up laughing through most of the meal. Gloria, Mary, Dorothy, and I took a trip to Oregon and had a blast. Such a cheerful time. That's how I remember Mary-smart, fun, strong, always willing to help others.  My condolences to the Garcia and Villela families on the loss of Mary, a vital and loving source of strength in your families.

Dear beloved Nannie may you Rest In Peace with no worries I will cherish all the memories we shared time we’ve spent oh how I long to hold you once again to hear your laughter to feel your soft skin rub my hand and head oh how I long to touch you once again.
