My Cousin my friend and my dance partner in high school. We attended many sock hops at Carver and danced in Mr. Leavy’s store during the lunch hour on our break. Styne was 2 years older than I was so she gave me the advice I needed to navigate the classes in school. I introduced her to Teapot and that was the beginning of a great love affair. I Will miss her very much Rest in Heaven my dear Cousin

I am JJ, from Hiram, GA. I met Styne and her beloved Husband John in Aschaffenburg, Germany in 1970. We maintained close contact since. Styne was one of the kindest people one could know. I know Monique and the entire family will miss her so much. Just remember she would want you all to love and be kind to each other. She is only physically gone but your memories of her will last forever.

Modestyne was a good friend and neighbor. We were classmates at Carver Elementary and High School in Lockhart, Texas and spent many days together talking and studying.
She had such a sweet personality and pleasant attitude.
Please know family that I will be praying for your strength and peace.
*A special thanks to her sister, Wanda who is now a part of our family and shared
information and memories with me.
Again may God bless and keep you family.
Love,
Barbara Eustace Williams 🙏🏽

I will never forget the stories that you told me about your mother, Monika. You always talked about her with so much love and admiration. You two have a very special connection. Mosestyne "The Dancing Machine" is dancing with the angels! Rest in Paradise, Ma'am.

I am Joyce Johnson from Houston, Texas. My father was Modestyne's Pastor at St. James A.M. Church during the 60's.
I was also her Maid of honor in her marriage to "TeaPot". She and I shared many wonderful memories together. We lost contact for a number of years, but recently connected to become Facebook friends, Or love and friendship was rekindled as if we never had the missing years.
My sympathy and love extends to each of you.
I leave each of you in God's care.

I am the pastor of St. James AME in Lockhart, Texas, the church that Sis. Modestyne (Styne) attended as a youth. I met her via Facebook slightly less than a year ago when she connected to the church’s Virtual Worship on Facebook. She shared that she desired to always be a part of St. James and from that day forward she hardly ever missed Virtual Worship. Sis. Styne was an inspiration to me as a pastor. I considered her to be a friend. Sis. Styne and her encouraging spirit will be deeply missed. I offer my condolences to the family and I pray to Almighty God that he will strengthen and comfort you.
