Patricia Ann Young-Guggisberg was born June 12, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away in the late afternoon hours of June 18th at her beloved residence in which she lived for the past seventy years. Patricia was the daughter of Brigham Young the Fourth and Mary Edna Brewerton Young. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Mark Hal Guggisberg, her sisters Mary Young Leigh and Winifred Joy Young Hill and her brothers Brigham Spencer Young the fifth and Richard Brewerton Young. She is survived in death by her sons Gregory Young Guggisberg and Mark Young Guggisberg and her daughter Maryann G. Finn; in addition to the above, Patricia has eight grandchildren and three great- grand children.
Patricia's passions ranged from reading works from the Western Canon, watching classic black & white movies on the TCM channel and listening to the great Italian operas. She also loved travelling with her husband and family throughout Mexico, Europe, Egypt and Costa Rica. But by far her greatest passion was her family. She loved talking with her grandchildren on a weekly, if not on a daily basis.
Patricia was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a former president of both the Primary and Relief Society in The Third Ward. She was a TA at Heard School where she was encouraged and motivated to pursue her AA degree at Phoenix College. She also earned her Real Estate license.
Patricia will be missed and venerated by all those who came in contact with her loving and gentle soul. Her steal-trap memory had such a wonderful wit and cerebral sense of humour.
A celebration of life will be held this Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 47 E. Ashland beginning at 10am.
