It's with a heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our Mom, Susan Gillenwater. She was 74 years old, born in Indianapolis and loved her kids, grandkids, brothers and sisters very much. She also loved her cats and all animals for that matter. She always worried about the bees around her house in Arizona and kept them watered at all times. Mom was a very funny person with a weird sense of humor that she passed down to her kids. She was very creative and a great artist; not to mention a fabulous cook! When she set her mind to it, she could learn to do anything, and this was before YouTube videos. She learned to fly an airplane, she wrote a book on entrepreneurship and could even make furniture and paint a car. She also had a generous spirit, particularly for homeless people. She gave a lot of her time, resources and energy to them.
Lastly, few people loved the Lord like she did. She took spirituality to a whole new level. When she prayed, watch out. Her prayers were powerful and we knew would be answered in some form or another…usually in unexpected ways. She loved that and often spoke of God’s creativity.
There never has been or ever will be someone like her. She was one-of-a-kind. We love you Mom. Say hi to Dad for us.
