

In memoriam…Toni Seidl (Agnes Mary Antoinette Kent) passed away on February 3, 2014. Toni was the loyal and loving wife of James C. Seidl and the exemplary and dedicated mother of Kent, Christine and Kathryn. One of nine siblings, Toni was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland, Canada. She is a graduate of St. Bride's College and School of Nursing. Throughout her life, she was a frequent volunteer in nursing endeavors and worked at several hospitals, including St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City. She held nursing licenses from Canada and from the states of New York, Washington, Michigan, and Arizona. Before moving to Phoenix 43 years ago, Toni led an adventurous and nomadic life as the spouse of a Coast Guard aviator. Her favorite posting was a three year assignment in Hawaii. Throughout her long life, Toni was a committed volunteer for many causes including the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Lady Lions. She is remembered for her selfless contributions to charity as well as for her compassionate concern for her nursing patients. An erudite woman Toni had a passion for reading, particularly works pertaining to U.S. history. She also enjoyed classical music and played the piano well. Nonetheless, Toni was always a fun-loving person with a fine sense of humor; she continually kept her family and friends laughing and marveling with quick dance steps and her endless renditions of old songs. Additionally, she was an avid traveler, gardener and partner in endless home improvement schemes in her many homes. Toni was a remarkable wife, mother and friend who tirelessly dedicated herself to improving life for those around her. She always put the needs of others ahead of her won. A wonderfully humane woman, Toni modeled tolerance and compassion for all. Hers was truly a life of giving, teaching and generosity of spirit; she will be greatly missed by her family and countless friends. Toni is survived by her husband James Charles Seidl, two children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Ss.
