Mr. Roland will be missed beyond measure in our lives. No camp trip was complete without sitting by the fire listening to his stories, including the legendary black panther. He was like an honorary uncle to my boys and they truly looked forward to spending time with him at Buck Creek. May the box stands in Heaven be warm and comfortable and the big bucks plentiful.

With Love,
The Duhons

The Last Hunt
Once so young
and in his prime,
A true hunter was he.

Hunting and trapping was
All he ever knew,
With game in the freezer,
They would survive the winter.

Money he got from the pelts
He sold, helped clothe his
Family and household bills.

Now the hunter that was
so young, woke up one
morning and saw that
he was no longer young.

Would this be his last
hunt, he thought to himself,
Could he muster enough energy,
for one more hunt.

As he sits on a stump,
Thinking back to when
he was young, Yes I have
led a good life.

Standing before him,
A magnificent buck
He raises his rifle,
But doesn't shoot.

As he lowers his gun,
He says these words,
"I've led a good life,
Run hard and fast,
My brother deer."

For this is truly
My last hunt.
Some day we shall
Meet again in the
Happy hunting grounds
