Charles E. Cornell

Cornell, Charles E., 86, of Plant City entered into Heaven’s Gates on June 2, 2020. He was born on June 27, 1933 in Ironton, Ohio to Charles and Alberta Collins Cornell. His hobbies included fishing, bowling, college football (he was a die- hard Ohio State Fan), and spending time with his family. He proudly served in the United States Military Army National Guard for 31 years.

Charles was pre-ceded in death by his parents; Charles and Alberta Cornell and his loving wife of 39 years, Shirley Jean Cornell. His survivors include, daughters; Dianne Pippin (Eugene), Linda Simpson (Carlos Mullis), sons; Daniel Brannon (Patty) and James Brannon, Grandchildren; Rene’ Miller (Jerry), Terry Pippin (Tina), Ronnie Simpson (Tiffany), Danielle Browning, Jacob Brannon, Misty Odom (John), and Jessica Lewis (Casey), 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law; Wayne Preston (Eddice), sister-in-laws; Betty LeMaster, Johnnie Leamon (Donald), Martha Baxter, and Patsy Watkins, and a multitude of nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds Street, Plant City, FL 33563. Interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Plant City, Florida. Condolences may be shared for the family at www.wellsmemorial.com
