“Dick”

Harry Richard Sorbye (Dick) of Boynton Beach, Florida was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 01, 1946 and passed away on March 30th, 2020.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents Harry S. and Marjorie Sorbye. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Shelby (Nikkinen) Sorbye and his sons Michael D. (Kathleen) Anderson of Long Island, New York, Craig W. (Angela) Anderson of Palatine Bridge, New York. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren all of New York, Marykate and Patrick Anderson and Blake Miller. Dick is also survived by his brothers: Robert Sorbye of Fargo, ND, Donald Sorbye of Arizona and his sister Susan Sorbye of Cocoa Beach, FL.

Previous to moving to Florida, Dick lived in upstate New York where he owned a country store.

Dick served in the United States Navy with 2 tours in Vietnam from 1964 – 1967.

Dick was interested in fishing and hunting, and belonged to the Floral Park New York Masonic Lodge #1016, he was very active in the Galway, New York Fire Department and the Galway, New York Lions Club.
