Jane Costello

Jane was born on January 26, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. She was a graduate of Saint Rose Grammar School ’64 and Saint Rose High School ‘68, in Belmar, NJ. Jane earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Michigan State University in East Lansing, and her master’s degree in public health from University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Jane began her career at Revlon Consumer Products in Edison, NJ, and then transitioned to Johnson & Johnson. She jumped at the chance to relocate for J&J and settled in North Little Rock, Arkansas, her home for some thirty years. She changed career paths from manufacturing to state government, earned her MPH, and worked as an epidemiologist for the Arkansas Department of Health until declining health compelled her retirement in 2015. For the past 2 years she resided at Consulate Health Care, West Palm Beach, FL, where she was treated with kindness and dignity.

Jane valued higher education; loved and cared for animals; was well informed about music, both pop and classical, especially opera; played the piano beautifully, both for her own enjoyment as well as being an organist during her Belmar years at Saint Rose Parish. Jane was an avid reader who enjoyed international travel. A lifetime follower of the TV show Jeopardy, Jane was thrilled to be a contestant on it.

Jane was feisty, with a sharp wit, a quirky sense of humor, and made many friends during her years in NJ and AR.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, Francis X. and Lucia A. (Ercoliani) Costello. She is survived by her four siblings Mary R. Costello of Belmar, NJ; Michael K. Costello of Sea Girt, NJ, Susan C. Costello of Lake Worth, FL and Paul C. Costello (Wendy) of Ocean, NJ; as well as nieces and nephews (Christopher, Andrew, Elyssa, and Katherine); and her two senior cats Abby Abby Abby and Josephine Jackson Pollack with her coat of many colors.
