Dear Biny, I am so sorry for your loss. I had no idea Rensje was ill as I have not spoken to any of our former colleagues in a while. The strange thing is that on Saturday morning before seeing the obituary I had the thought to call her and you as it’s been so long.

I can’t imagine how devastated her passing must have left you. You and she were such close friends for so long. Rensje and you were highly respected colleagues and will always be part of my better memories of my career. I value my ability to wish a happy New Year to any Dutch person I meet here or on my travels (and I have) as a souvenir of our friendship.

I hope your many happy memories of Rensje will comfort you through your bereavement.

Many happy memories of birding with Rensje - Ile-aux-Lievres, Point Pelee, etc. and, especially, Ecuador. I shall miss seeing her on future outings.

Deepest sympathies to Biny and to Rensje's family in The Netherlands.

Dear Biny,
David and are so sorry about the loss of Rensje.
The two of you were often in our minds as we went about our daily life, and whenever we heard about good birding.
We were particularly tickled to meet you late in the migration season at Pt. Pelee, where we saw few interesting birds, but were delighted to meet birding friends
Our memories are good; we will cherish them.
We would dearly like you to pay us a visit or give us a call when it's convenient.
