Her parents died when she was a child, and she was raised by her British born grandfather, Thomas Winsper Sr., and her Aunts Myrtle and Ella, with whom she had long and close relationships. To her younger cousins, visits from the Winspers were always full of love and laughter, and June being the closest in age, was always the most loved.
Known as “Winnie” at Richmond Hill High School in Richmond Hill, New York, she was throughout her life remembered for her quick wit and ready smile. From the 1930's through the 1960's, she delighted in family travel on frequent cruises to Bermuda or Cuba, and enjoyed telling the story of her 21st birthday at Havana’s Tropicana Club. June moved from New York to Florida in the late 1960s with her aunts, and had a wide circle of admiring friends and family in and around Pompano Beach.
June is survived by her cousins John MacVean (Elaine) of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Pamela Eagles (Mike) of Forestport, NY, Dr. Raymond Whitham of Orland, CA, Kathleen Franklin (Jerry) of Wilmington, NC, Scott Whitham of Ithaca, NY, their families, and many, many friends in Florida and elsewhere.
