Michelet Laurent

Michelet Laurent was born on July 12, 1952, in Limbe, Haiti, to parents Nacilia Dormeus and Michel Laurent. Michelet was the oldest of four children. He attended Primary School at Salesien of St. John Bosco Catholic School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and he attended High School at College Classic Moderne. In 1981, he enrolled in the Armed Forces of Haiti serving as an Orderly at Military Hospital until he moved to America. A few years before he left Haiti, he worked as a Pharmacist at Gousse Pharmacy. In 1988, he moved to the United States where he was passionate about life, family, and his work. He had a strong work ethic, drive, and determination that led him to work for the School Board of Broward County in their Transportation Services Department as a Bus Driver until his retirement. He loved driving students to and from school.

After retiring, he remained active and full of life. He drove for the City of North Lauderdale and Empire Limo, where he enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. He enjoyed going to the gym, working out with his friends, and walking 5 miles every morning. His energy was infectious and his love tender. He was loved and adored by everyone who knew him.

Michelet is survived by his wife, Peguy Laurent; his son, Jefferey Florvil; his daughter, Mishaella Ryans; sister, Virginie Belizaire; brother, Berard Laurent; one grandchild; families; The Dormeus Family, The Florvil Family, The Laurent Family, The Belizaire Family, The Berus Family, The Elias Family, The Laguerre Family, The Alexis Family, The Beris Family, The Bien-Aime Family, The Eloi Family, The Domeque Family, The Saintimus Family, The Exalant Family, The Graham Family, The Forestal Family, The Jospeh Family, The Beauvil Family, The Gay Family, and The Gédéon Family.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 from 5 PM to 9 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 W Copans Rd, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. A funeral service will be held on April 24, 2021 at St. Clement Catholic Church 2975 N. Andrews Ave, Wilton Manors, FL 33311, followed by the interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens 200 W. Copans Rd, Pompano Beach, FL 33064.
