David H. Franklin, 101 passed away on May, 15, 2019 at Church Street Manor in Ecru. He was born on April 17, 1918 to Rush Franklin and Hattie Bullard Franklin. David was married to Mattie Lourene Sneed. He was a member of Union Nazarene Church in Thaxton. David was an Army Veteran in WWII where he served in the 162nd Infantry Regiment, in the Pacific Theater of Operations in Australia, as a Rifleman. He was a farmer and he and his wife owned and operated a Chicken house. He enjoyed spending time with his dog Brody.

Services will be at 2 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Browning Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Union Nazarene Cemetery. Browning Funeral is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by one sister Annie Rodgers of Pontotoc and a host of nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 Friday May 17, 2019 and from 12 noon until 2 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to Union Nazarene Cemetery, 95 Holley Lane, Thaxton, MS 38871.
