Mr. Greer was born February 13, 1936 in Paducah, Kentucky to Samuel Ralph Greer, Sr. and Bernice Banks Greer. He was a retired construction inspector with Shell Oil Company; a member of First Baptist Church, Poplarville; and a proud United States Army Veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division as a Special Forces Operator. He also was an alumnus of Mississippi State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture; had previously served as a Deacon with Hillcrest Baptist Church in Carriere; and had served mission trips to Honduras, Mexico, and Belize. He was a member of Gideon's International - Poplarville Camp.
His parents precede him death.
Family members include four children, Angela (Rob) Huggins, Monnie (Tricia) Greer, Trisha (James) Taylor, Clair (Marty) Leger; three sisters, June Andrews, Ginger Holston, Frances Hyde; grandchildren, Chris Milner, Holly Milner, Patrick Daigle, Taylor Daigle, Courtney Willoughby, Ashton Taylor, Kate Leger, David Leger, Phillip Leger, and Blake Leger.
Memorial services will be at White Funeral Home, Poplarville on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 3:00 pm. Rev. John Sapp will officiate the service. Private burial will follow at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to thank Johnny and Rhonda Holston; Brad & Leigh Morris Greer and the staff of Blueberry Hill Personal Care for their wonderful care of Mr. Greer.
