Dorothy (Carson) James was born September 7, 1924 and died December 18, 2012. She was predeceased by her first husband Bill Carson and her second husband Roy James. She was also predeceased by her brother George Ward, and sisters Barney Lewis, Lola Deugau and Jean MacDonald. Mom is survived by her daughters; Lynda McFarlane (Bill - deceased), Diane Hasler (Wayne), Boni Dufour (Roger) and stepson Wayne James (Nancy). She is also survived by her brother Bill Yirrell of Coombs as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom was born and raised in Coombs. She moved to Port Alberni to work in the plywood mill, married Dad, moved back to Coombs, then moved to Port Alberni. After Dad passed away in 1978 Mom married again and moved back to Coombs, and then to Port Alberni again. Mom enjoyed traveling through the province and across Canada. One of her favorite holiday spots was in the Chilko at Tatla Lake. She enjoyed keeping her hands busy too. Her family enjoyed the gifts of her labors and treasure them today. Mom also was a ‘proper’ lady and had a good sense of humor (with or without one bottle of beer).
Mom requested cremation, and we will announce a get-together in the Spring, when the bulbs are in bloom.
